Radio Amateur Examination.

Twice yearly the club hosts a 16 week course, which is held at the National Amateur Radio Centre (NARC) in Honeydew. These classes normally take place on a Wednesday evening from 19h00 until 21h00 for the Class A restricted (ZR) license. More information relating to the three various license classes available in South Africa, please click on this link.

The ZR RAE lectures are presented by volutneers who take the education of prospective new Radio Amateurs extremely seriously.

Although it is not compulsory to attend our lecture series, it is strongly recommended that you do attend these classes. During the presenting of the lectures, we are able to supply you with the necessary insight on how all the bits and pieces fit together. We provide practical demonstrations as well as having practical workshops which will equip you with the necessary knowledge and information to allow you to understand the basic and advanced principles of Amateur Radio.

We do however require dedication to learning the material and completion of homework which we supply you. This must not been seen as a bind, but will assist you in passing this technical course.

There are some costs involved in attending the course and those costs will be provided on application.

For more information please visit our club info page where you will find the relevant contact details.
